Objective: Gicumbi District engaged UPCE Consult Ltd to elaborate a detailed physical plan for the Gaseke settlement site. Scope & Methodology: Over a four-month assignment involving civil engineers, quantity surveyors, an environmentalist, an architect, a GIS expert and a sociologist, our team conducted geometric and geotechnical studies, developed architectural and structural designs, prepared confidential Bills of Quantities, and carried out a full socio-economic and environmental impact assessment (EIA) for the site. Key Deliverables: A detailed physical development plan for the Gaseke settlement, supported by geotechnical studies, architectural and structural designs, a confidential BOQ, and an EIA report. Objective: The Institute of Legal Practice and Development (ILPD) engaged UPCE Consult Ltd to study the renovation of ILPD staff houses in Nyanza District and the rehabilitation of its Kigali office. Scope & Methodology: Our team developed an architectural plan for the new design features to be incorporated into the renovated properties, and carried out a full quantity survey covering all renovated features across both the Nyanza houses and the Kigali office, providing technical advice to the client throughout the process. Key Deliverables: Architectural renovation plans, a complete quantity survey for all renovated features, and direct technical advisory support to ILPD. Impact: The 6-month assignment gave ILPD a clear, costed renovation and rehabilitation plan for its properties in both Nyanza and Kigali, improving staff housing conditions and office facilities.
